One of Life-time Members, Brian DuQuesnay has made the 2008 National Sporting Clays Association All-American Team. Brian made the team in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and was the only shooter from Florida to make the 2008 Open Team. If you see Brian around the sporting clays course, be sure and congratulate him on this fine accomplishment!

Well, we all went expecting rain but being a day of 'Miracles on the Savannah, there was none! There were cries FOR rain as the heat beat down on us all. Not even streams of sweat however could dampen a wonderful day of shooting clays at the Savannah Hunting & Fishing Club this year. The targets were excellent, with detailed discussions still going on; debates on which was the hardest pair.

P.W.D. Hunting & Sporting Club
Annual Sporting Clays Open

H.O.A.: Geoffrey Ziadie (92)
R/UP: Shaun Barnes (91)

P.W.D hosted an entertaining and well organised shoot. Big thank you's to the P.W.D. club, management and Errol Ziadie for really making the effort to put on a consistently good event.

The journey to P.W.D. was not for the faint of heart but the reward was well worth it - for both shooters and non-shooters alike. The blue skies, blue waters, cool breeze and panoramic views at certain stations made staying there a pleasure. ...

MAXXIS Sporting Clays Open 2008

ALL_JA_SC07_gzaide.jpgHOA: Bobby Chung with a score of 90
RUP: Craig Simpson with a score of 87

At the risk of sounding like a scratched record, bouncing back again and again over the same section of a record - ONeal set a BOSS course again; this time at Sligoville. If anyone can remember a straight bird, with no curl, please remind me! The birds really made exceptional use of the wonderful Windover property. Between a wonderful course and a sumptuous meal, fun was had by all.

Now, as for the meal! It was truly a MAXXIS affair. Lawx, how the chicken so big! I cyan finish dis! Some how these statements were followed up by a "khulling" of the food on the plate. Kudos on the taste, presentation and size of the portions. Even the cake was MAXXIS size!

CHAMPION:  Peter McConnell with a score of 84
RUNNER UP: Damien Moe a score of 80

Once again, Oneal "The Master" Brown set an enjoyable and challenging sporting clays course. None of the birds looked very difficult or very far, yet many an A class shooter missed a truck by a wheel or two! The turnout of ...

Rhino Rally 2008

The results are in for the Rhino Rally 2008 in Florida.
As in previous years, our shooters continue to do VERY well in the 5-Stand and FITASC. We had class finishes in B,C,D and E in the FITASC!
The Jamaican team won the team event!

In the Sporting Clays, Craig called to say that the results would have been much better if more of them had entered the prelim event to acclimatise to the speed and distance of the birds. We still came out with class finished in B,D and E class in the main event.

CHAMPION:  Craig Simpson with a score of 90
RUNNER UP: Ian Banks with a score of 89

On one of the most balanced scoring courses I have had the pleasure of shooting, Oneal "The Master" Brown set a wonderful sporting clays course. With a low score of 47 and HOA of 90, there were birds for the E class shooters to bag and some that had the A class shooters stretching their talent. The new ...

The system used for classification of shooters is now available online. All shooters can expect and demand that this system of classification be used objectively by Shoot Officials.
